Photograph caption dated March 6, 1954 reads, "Sam Hanks, left, Burbank resident and last year's National AAA Racing champion, takes delivery of the first Chevrolet Corvette in the Valley from Bill Boyd, new car sales manager of Tom Brown Chevrolet in Burbank. Hanks placed third in both the 1952 and 1953 Indianapolis 500 mile races."
