A crowd of pre-adolescent children dressed in formal clothes stand on the Santa Monica pier with American flags in their hands. Behind them the Bowling Pavilion can be seen, as well as the North Beach Bath House building. Flowers have been arranged in wash basins lining the right side of the pier. A slightly taller boy in front towards the left holds a bouquet of flowers in his left hand. Trees are visible in the distance.
