This decorative ceramic piece was made by William Manker and is on display at the Second Invitation Ceramic Exhibition sponsored by the Fine Arts Foundation at Scripps College. In addition to this information, the back of the photograph reads, "William Manker, Claremont, California. Director of the ceramic department, Scripps College. Directior of the bi-annual invitation ceramic exhibitions at Scripps College, 1945, 1947. Exhibitor in National Ceramic Exhibitions, awarded prize in 1946, honorable mention, 1940. Work represented in Syracuse Mesuem of Fine Arts, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; first prize for ceramics, Los Angeles County Art Exposition, 1940. Exhibitor at first and second California Ceramic Exhibitions, San Francisco World Fair, 1939, 1940, Denver Museum of Fine Arts."
