Description
Photo description accompanying AP Wirephoto of January 22, 1969 states: "Sherman Island, across the San Joaquin River north of Antioch, was about two-thirds under water Wednesday after a protecting levee was breeched by flood waters. Some 200 residents of the island were evacuated to higher ground."
