Compared with cattle, the sales of sheep and hogs are relatively unimportant at the Union Stockyards. They handle about 2500 hogs and 1500 sheep weekly. For the most part, the sheep go directly from the shipper to the slaughter-house. Here on April 11, 1953, is a carload of sheep en route to "destiny" after purchase.
