Photograph caption dated March 12, 1949 reads, "Busy Lancaster street scene - This is a familiar sight along Tenth St. between Cedar and Sierra Highway, and it wasn't taken on a Saturday afternoon. Lancaster is the commercial center of the Antelope Valley and is distribution capital for many products used throughout the entire desert area. It is also a major shopping point for Muroc Air Force Base, many of whose employes [sic] and their families live in Lancaster."; See images #00131884 through #00131897 for all photos in this series.
