Description: This circa 1980 image shows the Arden Branch of the Sacramento County Library system, located at 891 Watt Avenue. Built for a cost of 270,000 dollars at the southwest corner of Watt and Northrup, the brick and wood shingle structure’s opening capacity was for 40,000 books, 66 seats and a parking lot for 99 automobiles. The opening of the new library quadrupled the space available from its previous location at Arden Town shopping center.
