Photograph of a Shell Oil Company employee at work, ca.1940. A man in stained coveralls with "Earl" embroidered over the right breast kneels beside the controls of the machinery on the left. What appear to be large, circular tanks stand in a row along the right wall with thick pipes extending from the tops. The pipes continue to the ceiling where they extend out of sight to the right.
