Description
The hearing room was jammed with spectators on May 19, 1953, when a subcommittee of the House Committee on Government Operations opened its televised hearings probing infiltration of Communists into CHA. Arrow points to Congressman Clare Hoffman, chairman of the subcommittee. First witness was Charles R. Drake (at right background), aircraft mechanic. CHA stands for City Housing Authority.
