Photograph caption dated October 16, 1957 reads "Howard Venard family of North Hollywood makes midget racing family affair. Dad acts as pit crew chief for his daughter, 'Sugar' Karen Venard, 12, as she prepares to enter competition. Buster, 14, doubles as mechanic for sister when not racing himself.
