Description
John Rich discusses his book, “Warm Up the Snake.” He begins by explaining that the book is a biography of his life and career as a television and film director. The book consists of stories of notable film and television personalities, Hollywood deals, and groundbreaking productions that defined two generations of film and television. During the interview Rich goes into detail regarding his work on the television show “All in the Family” and what made the show so revolutionary for its time. He goes on to discuss how his book reveals observations on the art, business, and politics of filmmaking, directing and producing. In addition to “All in the Family” John Rich discusses other shows from his book that he directed and produced “The Dick Van Dyke Show” “The Jeffersons,” “Good Times,” “The Brady Bunch,” “Gilligan’s Island” and many others. Rich also shares his experiences working with big names such as Elvis Presley and Barbara Stanwyck.
