Photograph caption dated September 23, 1959 reads, "Piano wire cutters - Jose Alveraz replaces heavy gauge piano wire snapped in slicing of ribbon of clay into individual bricks. Four section cutter, automatic machine which makes 12 to 16 cuts per minute, slices though clay to form 18 bricks with each cut. Workers take still-wet bricks from moving belt and place them in hackers, piles of 485 bricks, which are moved to drying yard.
