Photograph. "Mary Georgie van der Leck, left, and Lorenita Forster decorate the De Neve cross at the entrance to Olvera street in preparation for tomorrow's celebration of the 162nd anniversary of the founding of the city of Los Angeles. The hand-carved cross bears the lettering: 'El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora la Reina de Los Angeles.'" -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated 3 September 1943.
