Description
The oil boom on the Venice peninsula began in 1929. At it's peak, there were 340 oil wells in Venice, all of which were removed by 1962. Printed on reverse: Like sentinels do these massize oil derricks stand overlooking the Pacific. Written on reverse: "Dear Aunt Edith. Here I am back on the coast arrived Sat. 11th Ja. and all are fine. I am leaving at 130. ISo Flower St. apt 19. Hope you and Unis Betty are fine. Love, Rigby"
