Description
Postcard features a monochromatic image of Austrian singer Lilly (Dorn) Hertz and her husband, German-born conductor Alfred Hertz, who at this time was the music director of the San Francisco Symphony. Both are standing with canes, carrying hats, on what appears to be a bridge covered with ivy. The handwritten note written in red ink is addressed to "My very dear Mrs. Frankel", regretting that they had not seen her when she was in town, and stating that she would have been welcomed in their home. The address printed on the card for Mrs. Frankel is "614 Mer. Nat. Bank Building, Los Angeles, Cal".
