This marquee for the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church is nestled in the small garden at the front of the church, which is not visible in this photograph. It lists Rev. Charles B. Doss as the founder, and Rev. Walter Farmer as the current pastor; the marquee also shows the order of service with days and times listed. Verso on photograph says that in 1920 this church was known as the Vernon Avenue Congregational Church, in 1930 the name was changed to Western Knolls Congregational Church, and in 1940 the name was once again changed and it became Lincoln Memorial Congregational Church. It does not, however, list when it acquired its current name. Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church is located at 4415 Hooper Avenue and Vernon Avenue. Photograph dated: April 2004.
