Photoprint reads "Skill in archery, before the advent of guns and gunpowder a major necessity for youths and men, today is a wholesome recreation, increasing in popularity. Thousands of young men and boys use the facilities of the Los Angeles Playground and Recreation Department to become proficient archers under the tutelage of experts. Here is a photograph of two amateur archers on one of the many archery courses provided".
