Description
Elizabeth Kendall discusses her book, “American Daughter.” She begins by explaining that she was driving her car as a teenager, and got in an accident that killed her mother. She talks about growing up in an affluent part of St. Louis, Missouri. She describes the role is post-World War II housewives, and how women were expected to live in the 1950s. Kendall explains that her book is a dual memoir of both her and her mother. She talks about how her family dealt with the accident, and what they are doing now. She ends the interview by discussing the civil rights movement in St. Louis.
