Photograph caption reads: "A blast from the present greeted those who braved the mid-July sun yesterday. Athletes with adorable caps tied under their chins raced across the sands of Zuma Beach in the Iron Man contest, involving swimming, paddle boards and surf skiing". "Participants in an Iron Man competition at Zuma Beach spring towards the ocean at the start of the final round of competition. Ten teams of three swimmers swim relay legs of events which include a freestyle swim, paddle boards, and surf skis. Three Australian teams were on hand to participate". Photograph dated: July 20, 1986.
