Description
Alex Abella discusses his book, “Soldiers of Reason.” He begins by the mission of the Rand Corporation and the history of how they were founded. He talks about how they were initially funded to make new weapons for the United States. Abella describes how he did research and that he was allowed to view their papers at their Santa Monica headquarters. He talks about Rand’s role in the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He discusses their recent activities such as expanding into the Middle East, and solving problems between the Israelis and Palestinians. He ends the interview by talking about how Barack Obama has been quoting Rand studies in his political speeches.
