Description: Judge John Merrick poses as the "sheriff" outside of the jail booth at the 1953 Malibu Gymkhana, an equestrian competition and Western-themed community event held at Crummer Field in central Malibu. The event was a fundraiser cosponsored by the Malibu Riders Club and the Webster Elementary School PTA.
