Description
Khaled Hosseini discusses his book, “A Thousand Splendid Suns.” He shares his thoughts on the difficulty of following the success of his first book, “The Kite Runner.” He goes on to detail the plot of the book, which, like his first book, is set Afghanistan. Using the lives of two women, the novel covers thirty years of anti-Soviet jihad, civil war, and the tyranny of the Taliban. Also in this interview, Hosseini shares some of his thoughts on the current situation in Afghanistan, women and Islam, medical care in the Middle East and so forth.
