A small sailboat and a larger sailboat (frigate or schooner?) are traveling through the bay. Overlooking the bay is the town of Santa Barbara. Further inland and to the right are a cluster of houses and buildings. Mission Santa Barbara sits on a hill closer to the mountains in the distance.
