Description
Letters of H. H. Kooser, native of Pennsylvania who came to California during the Gold Rush and eventually owned 232 acre farm in the Almaden Township. Letters written to his brother Benjamin relate to personal and financial plans and offer some description of his work and life at New Almaden Mines (For New Almaden references, see Sept. 22, 1851; Oct. 5, 1851; Dec. 26, 1851; Mar. 28, 1852; Oct. 28, 1852; Dec. 21, 1852; Jan. 15, 1853; Jul. 17, 1853; Aug.7, 1853; Oct. 16, 1853; Apr. 18, 1855)
