Photograph was edited for publication purposes The Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture is a two-year community college in Woodland Hills, California. It opened in September 1947, with 70 students and 18 faculty members and is part of the Los Angeles Community College District. The school's initial focus was crop cultivation and animal husbandry, and still retains a large swatch of open fields for hands-on working farm training. In 1956 the school was renamed Los Angeles Pierce College. Photograph article dated November 14, 1962 partially reads, "Win or lose, the football crowd is always hungry after an exciting game. And an after-the-game party, complete with good food, is a 'sure winner.' Pierce College football fans, players, songleaders and cheerleaders are firm believers in this policy. 'We have a party after every game,' Doris Nichol, 19-year-old songleader of Canoga Park, said. 'Usually a member of the team has it at his home. Sometimes some parents or faculty members join us.'" Photograph caption reads, "Football games are highlight of week for Pierce College students. Doris Nichol, left, and Diann Jackson, songleaders, give cheer for team member Larry Hilbert."; See images #00135830 through #00135832 for all photos in this series.
