Photograph caption dated June 2, 1965 reads, "View of picturesque 12th hole at Valencia Golf Course in Saugus. The new 18-hole public course, in rolling hills on Newhall Ranch, contains many magnificent holes, four large lakes, and its $500,00 clubhouse is nearing completion. The course is 28 miles north of downtown Los Angeles at the Saugus off ramp of the Golden State Freeway. It will open June 21st."
