Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated December 28, 1962 reads, "This Cooper's hawk perches on the gloved hand of Albert C. Bergman, kennelman [sic] at the Valley Animal Shelter, 13131 Sherman Way, North Hollywood, after running into a snag while in flight Saturday. Bergman said the bird was captured when its leash was caught in a tree and that such captures of hawks are rare. Presently the hawk is kept in a cage, but it will be claimed soon, upon request by a number of people, if its owner does not call, Bergman said."
