Description
View of Burbank State Bank, a somewhat small and unassuming brick building on the corner of Olive Ave. and San Fernando Blvd., this was Burbank's first bank. H.A. Church and his son, Ralph O. Church purchased the 30-foot building for $1,000. Capital Stock worth $25,000 was sold, and the bank opened for business on April 1, 1908. By the end of the first day, $30,000 had been deposited. Notice that both Olive and San Fernando are still dirt roads with only a small portion of the street paved for pedestrians.
