Description
Note: "Nzi Monkuob des Königs Onkel in Hausakleidern. (Wuhrmann, A., 1917. Beschreibung zu den Lichtbildern aus Bamum. E-30-0,6).
Note translation: Nzi Monkuob, the King s uncle, in Hausa clothes. One relative of the deceased Queen Mother is still alive - the powerful and influential Nzi Monkuob. He lives in a wonderful compound near the royal palace, and possesses, along with a large number of slaves, about 100 wives. Nzi Monkuob is very much an amiable and simple man. His many slaves are deeply attached to him and really love him. He cares for his people in a very fatherly way. If you visit him you usually find him surrounded by a whole group of men whom he calls my friends . As the chief s uncle he also plays a certain role in the court, and when important discussions take place he is always called in to sit with the three King s Fathers . (A. Wuhrmann, 1917, Commentaries on Slides from Bamum, E-30-0,6. K 336). - Not the richly embroidered robe and the sword (PV 02.2002).
