Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph caption dated December 23, 1963 reads, "Some 200 Boy and Girl Scouts joined in planting nearly 1,000 seedling eucalyptus trees along the slope of the San Diego Freeway near Mulholland Drive. The project, arranged by the California Division of Highways, and scouting groups from Reseda, Eagle Rock and Altadena, was designed to enable scouts to earn badges and to beautify the slope."
