Photograph caption dated January 6, 1958 reads "Van Dyk Buchanan, principal of Tulsa Street School, Granada Hills, receives cooperation of students in placing on shelves books donated to school library. Aiding him are, from left, Donnie Moormeister, 8, B3; Buddy Mycorn, 6; B1; Susan Ohliger, 12, B6, and Melody Bormaster, 10, B6. Books are accumulated through 'Gift Book Club,' with students celebrating birthdays or special occasions presenting name-inscribed books. PTA donated 52 books as surprise Christmas gift."
