Description
Grand Tiler's sword. Traditional flamberge blade (an allusion to the flaming sword that barred Adam and Eve's return to Eden). Engraved with natural designs and scrollwork. Obverse blade: engraved scrollwork and Grand Lodge of California F. & A.M. Reverse blade: scrollwork, Holy Bible surmounted by the square and compasses, an hourglass, a plumb level, the square and compasses hanging from the letter G. Grip is of (walrus) ivory. Pommel is a bear-plumed knight's helmet. Quillian is decorated at the center with a square and compasses placed in between the two Temple pillars, and flanked on each side a sun, moon, and stars.
