Description
This 1925 photograph shows a tee and green from the golf course of the Del Paso Country Club. The course experienced a $2,500 upgrade in 1929, with the introduction of more than 1,800 shrubs and trees, the latter including Huntington elms and Oriental planes. Also included was a redesign of six of the course's greens. An additional consideration was the enormous pressure from club members to build a 16th Street underpass, which would enable them to avoid the dangerous rail crossing along the B Street Levee.
