In his left hand, the monk holds an open book. To the left of the monk, a series of rectangular columns can be seen supporting the awning of the corridor. Further to the left, trees and additional vegetation can be seen. To the right, a wall of the mission lined with rectangular windows is visible. To the immediate right of the monk, small sections of stucco can be seen missing from the wall.
