Description
A display of the variety and abundance of melons grown commercially in Turlock after irrigation water became available. The lettering on this real estate office window states "original colonizers of Turlock Irrigation District". Nels Hultberg was the agent primarily responsible for attracting buyers for land in the Turlock area previously part of the extensive holdings of John W. Mitchell, the founder of Turlock.
