Description
Rex H.W. Albrextondare, hack doctor, sits at a table with two women wearing hats. Albrextondare stares right at the camera as does the woman in the middle. The woman on the right is potentially Mrs. Ruth Shaw, who in 1930 was charged alongside Albrextondare for petty threat and violation of the State Medical Act. This woman has a pocketbook on the table, and is looking down, resting her elbow on a newspaper. Related to the articles "'Doctor' Is Sued Again for Money," Los Angeles Times, 13 Apr. 1924: 7; "Jury Will Try Russian Accused of Swindling," Los Angeles Times, 15 May 1930: A5; and "'Prince's Trial Delayed When Juror Disappears," Los Angeles Times, 4 Jun. 1930: A12. Text from negative sleeve: Albrextondare, R. H. W. & Home. (1573 Chevy Chase). Handwritten on negative: Mrs. Ruth Shaw, "Dr." Albrextondare
