Description
Additional poster text: Not surprisingly they came to us. Still numb. Still protesting that they thought AIDS was only a 'young person's' illness. That's why London Lighthouse provides information, care and support for anyone affected by HIV and AIDS. We're now helping them accept Martin's illness and carry on with their lives. Old or young. Him or her. White or black. Straight or gay. AIDS doesn't care. We do. We need you to as well.
Poster held by Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library. History & Special Collections, Collection no. 306, item UK016.
Black and white photograph of three smiling people sitting on a blanket in the grass: a middle-aged man and woman, and a young man. Poster suggests that anyone can be infected with AIDS, not just young gay men, and describes London Lighthouse as a resource for older people who are HIV-positive.
Date on back of poster, 1996, reflects when the vendor received the copy later acquired by the UCLA Library.
