This photograph appears in the article, "Rancher Tells of Killing Two; Unusual Photograph of Aged Slayer and His Victims," Los Angeles Times, 24 Oct. 1925: A7. Text from newspaper caption: Re-enacts Death Scene- Cyrus A. Kirkpatrick is shown seated in chair from which he killed two real estate salesmen he suspected of plot to poison him and get his ranch. Kirkpatrick went through all the actions leading up to the tragedy in the presence of officers, for whom he was waiting after donning his best clothes following bloody deed.
