To celebrate Judge Lowe's 76th birthday he was given a mock trial that found him guilty in open court of "the unusual offense of seventy-six years of useful and worth while living, as charged by his fellow citizens." The trial was attended by a large number of attorneys, city officials and business men. His sentence was "incarceration in the grateful hearts of his fellow-citizens."
A cropped segment of the photograph featuring only Judge Lowe's head is featured in the paper.
Photograph appears with the article, "Birthday Fete for Judge Lowe in Court Room," Los Angeles Times, 14 July 1933: 10.
Judge Lowe is photographed outside standing in front of a vehicle and wearing a black suit with a bowtie. He is a bald man with a white goatee.
