Benjamin Thorpe addresses the attendees of the Western Union Reunion held at J. C. Sherer's home, "Somerset Farms" in Glendale. He stands just left-of-center and faces towards the right. He holds a string of beads in his hand closest to camera as he speaks. Behind him to the left, a picnic table extends from the left to center. A man sits on the table behind him. In the near distance at right, a few people sit and watch him speak. Two women sit leaning towards the right and a man (partial view) sits to the right of them. A tree stands in the distance at left.
