Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Benjamin Thorpe addresses the attendees of the Western Union Reunion held at J. C. Sherer's home, "Somerset Farms" in Glendale. He stands just left-of-center and faces towards the right. He holds a string of beads in his hand closest to camera as he speaks. Behind him to the left, a picnic table extends from the left to center. A man sits on the table behind him. In the near distance at right, a few people sit and watch him speak. Two women sit leaning towards the right and a man (partial view) sits to the right of them. A tree stands in the distance at left. One of its branches extends to the right and above the attendees.
