Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of H. H. West's Buick parked in front of the Idaho State Capitol building. The Buick is parked along a curb at left, facing towards the camera. Its license plate is visible; it reads, "9P 47 15." The road stretches wide across the image towards the right. Behind the car, the Idaho State Capitol stands in the distance at center and slightly lopsided. Trees, cars and a street occupy the space between it and the Buick. In the upper left corner, a portion of a building and its signage is visible. The sign reads, "SHELL STORAGE." Text from negative sleeve: 1597. Yellowstone trip 1942. Friday June 26, 1942. Boise Idaho. 1. Our Buick parked on the Main Street in Boise, Idaho. State capitol in the background. 2. Capitol Auto Court where we stopped in Boise for the night. [Note: In all instances of the year date, 1942, the last digit (2) is handwritten over a typed 3.]
