In the foreground, several men stand along the shoreline with their backs to the camera. Some carry boxes. The man standing with his back to camera at far right is Lieutenant A. B. Curtis. Beyond the men standing on shore, a boat sits ashore at center. Several men stand up in the boat and face towards the camera.
