Photograph of steerage passengers standing on the bow of a ship. The camera looks down towards the ship's bow. Two automobiles, parked tandem, sit in the foreground on the starboard side of the ship. At left, ship equipment extends down the center line of the ship. Two masts hover over the deck, extending towards the bow. Other ship machinery and pallets sit on the deck, beneath the masts. Rigging stretches vertically through the image at right and in the distance at left. Passengers stand along the bow's rails in the distance at center. Most stand with their backs to the camera. The ocean stretches into the distance at right.
