Photograph of the Gastineau Channel, a boat sailing the channel and Douglas Island, as viewed from the West's ship in Juneau, Alaska. The landscape is viewed from an elevated perspective. Gastineau Channel spans the width of the image along the bottom edge and stretches into the distance. A large boat sails the channel in the near distance at center. The "FAIRWEATHER" is viewed from the side and sails towards the right. It carries about a couple dozen people. A small boat follows behind it at left.
