Photograph of a sundial on a courtyard wall at Scotty's Castle in Death Valley National Monument, as viewed from below. In the foreground, a log oriented vertically stretches on an angle through the center of the image. Two logs atop it run perpendicular to it, across the image. Beyond the latticed logs, the top of a courtyard wall stretches along the bottom edge. In the lower right corner, a sundial is inset onto a tower wall. A cupola sits atop the tower that stretches above the sundial. Clear skies occupy the majority of the image.
