Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of sightseers standing at a viewpoint and looking out at Horseshoe Falls (or Canadian Falls) at Niagara Falls. A brick-paved road stretches across the foreground. In the near distance, 6 cars are parked on the near side of a stone and metal barrier that lines the far side of the road. All the cars are viewed at an angle from the rear. A sidewalk runs between the road and the barrier. At center, about 20 silhouetted tourists stand on the sidewalk with their backs to camera. In the distance ahead of them, the Niagara River is visible flowing towards camera and just cresting over the east side of Horseshoe Falls. Mist from the falls partially obscures the falls at center. Land forms are visible in the far distance, lining both sides of the Niagara River. Text from negative sleeve: 2331. Eastern trip October 1947.
