Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of passengers standing on ship decks as they travel aboard the S. S. Catalina Island. In the foreground at left, a man's head is in partial view along the bottom edge. Behind him, a set of stairs ascends to a higher deck. A girl holds onto the handrail as she descends the steps. Behind her, about a couple dozen passengers stand behind the deck's rail and face towards the camera. Above and behind them, the bridge's deck stretches across the image. Both decks are in partial view; they enter frame from the left and extend just past center at right. Several passengers stand on a lower deck at right. Beyond them, a harbor is visible in the background. Text from negative sleeve: 2389.
