Photograph of Mertie West taking a stroll down the Ventura Wharf. The Ventura Wharf spans the width of the bottom edge. It stretches back on a slight angle from right towards center. Along the left side of the pier, fishermen stand in a line along the rail with their gear. The two fishermen nearest to camera appear to converse with one another. One man stands alongside the left edge with his back to camera and farther down the dock the second man faces towards camera. To the right of them, a few people stroll along the pier in the near distance. Mertie West is one of these persons. She stands second from the right and walks down the pier, away from camera. In the background at center, people can be seen at the end of the pier.
