Description: Scope/Content: An oral history of Haley Wood, who was born in 1999 in Santa Maria, California. She is currently a marine biology student at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). Wood has been a vegetarian for seven years. Wood’s connection to the UCI Stories from the Sea Oral History project is that she grew up on the West Coast. In this interview, she discusses her lifestyle as a vegetarian and how growing up on the West Coast affected her vegetarian lifestyle. She also offers insight into the good and bad health aspects of the vegetarian lifestyle. In addition, she offers her opinions about the popularity of aquariums, fishing, and seafood restaurants on the coast and how they affect the vegetarian/vegan movement.
