Photograph caption dated August 11, 1960 reads, "Marine reserve Pfc. W. J. Gahret of 11239 Hatteras St., North Hollywood, receives training on radar tracking scope, left, from Lt. J. G. Scott, Service Air Director at MCAAF, Santa Ana. Gahret is on 15 day summer training maneuvers with Marine Air Control Squadron 18 from NAS, Los Alamitos."
